Position: Field and Facility Assistant
Pay: $14-16/Hour (DOE)
Location: Hudson, NC
Full-time Position (30-40 hours/week), Monday thru Friday with some Flexibility
Job Description:
Entry-level position providing general labor for commercial beekeeping operation.
This is a diverse position that includes working in our FDA-registered honey processing facility as well as helping in the field with beekeeping as needed. In the facility, this includes honey extraction, honey processing, bottling and labeling, preparing hive products, cleaning commercial equipment and cleaning the facility. In the field, responsibilities include all facets of commercial beekeeping: splitting colonies, re-queening, feeding, medicating, supering, harvesting, bee yard maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair, fork-lift operating, etc.…

Requirements:
- Be dependably detailed oriented, capable of following instructions and enjoying learning new things.
- Be comfortable working around honeybees.
- Be capable of lifting at least 50lbs and working outdoors in a range of weather conditions
- Motivation to complete tasks in a timely manner without compromising attention to detail
- Enjoy working in an active work environment and working with your hands
